Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Restriction
Summit Point Motorsports Park has notified the National Capital Chapter that they no longer permit electric vehicles and electric hybrid vehicles to participate in driving events at the Park’s facilities and access to any of the track surfaces. Therefore, these types of vehicles may not participate in NCC’s HPDE events or Club Races hosted at Summit Point Motorsports Park. (This policy also applies to NCC’s autocross events.)
Electric vehicles and hybrids continue to be welcome at the Park as support vehicles for HPDE participants and Club racers. Spectators and visitors may also continue to attend NCC’s events at the Park in their electric vehicles and hybrids as well.
This is a recent development. We will update this information as appropriate in light of any changing conditions or considerations.
HPDE Visitors and Spectators Welcome; Waiver Process
The National Capital Chapter welcomes visitors and spectators to the paddock at our HPDE events. Immediately upon arrival at the paddock, all visitors, spectators, and any other persons entering the paddock must sign the NCC BMW CCA track waiver and obtain a wristband from our HPDE event staff.
This is in addition to the waiver visitors and spectators sign at the main gate of Summit Point Motorsports Park. The waiver requirement applies even during periods when no cars are on-track. Bring your smartphone and proceed to the main classroom building, where you will see signs with a QR code for the on-line electronic waiver site. The instructions are simple, and the process only takes a minute or two. For visitors who are not yet 18 years old, a parent or guardian must complete a one-page written waiver form.
The Drivers’ School Steering Committee requires the assistance of all our HPDE participants in ensuring their visitors meet our waiver requirements, and more broadly in maintaining wide awareness of the waiver requirement across the paddock throughout the event.
